MAJOR GIFTS OFFICER Reports to: Major Gifts Manager Location: Remote (East Coast Region) FLSA status: Exempt Position Summary: The Major Gifts Officer in each region will be responsible for building a major gifts program for the assigned region. This position will be instrumental in establishing, implementing and promoting the goals of Best Friends Animal Society, raising funds, creating strong and solid relationships with significant prospects and donors and promoting the overall goals of Best Friends. Key Responsibilities:
- Raise major gifts of $10,000 and above.
- Identify and cultivate new relationships with prospects and donors, assist prospect research, donor correspondence, the acknowledgement process and stewardship of donors.
- Develop and maintain a major gifts portfolio of 100-125 major gifts prospects.
- Understand and match the needs and objectives of prospective donors with the fund raising goals of Best Friends.
- Coordinate and work with national staff in Utah.
- Work and interact with respective local program staff and participate in special events, with a focus on and promotion of major gifts.
- Help build a volunteer base in the local region.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- Minimum of 5-7 years development experience, with successful experience in major gifts fundraising in a non-profit organization, preferably in a regional setting.
- Understanding Planned Giving principles and vehicles, and ability to coordinate interactions with donors and planned giving officers to facilitate a gift.
- Familiarity with the region's philanthropic and business communities.
- High level of communication skills to express Best Friends' mission and fund raising objectives orally, and in writing to varied audiences, including potential donors and community members.
- Travel to meet with prospects and donors in the region and attend meetings at the sanctuary in Utah as required.
- Computer skills and knowledge of fundraising computer programs.
- Valid Driver's License and access to transportation to travel on organization business.

Location: Open FLSA status: Exempt Position Summary: Manages both internal and external advertising, inclusive of sponsorship sales. Internal:
- Ad sales for Best Friends magazine, including circulation support
- Sponsorship sales for Best Friends events/initiatives
External:
- Media selection and ad buys aligned to divisional priorities and in support of marketing plans
- Consideration and negotiation of external sponsorship opportunities for BFAS
Essential Duties:
- Provide guidance and management to ad sales, circulation, sponsorship and external media specialists/staff
- Responsible for integration of magazine and sponsorship sales, collaborating with Cause Marketing department for alignment and optimal benefits packaging for corporate accounts
- Responsible for revenue growth across magazine and sponsorship sales, and adherence to policies and guidelines for appropriate brand alignment
- Responsible for assessing, negotiating and coordinating external media placement to support marketing plans and build BFAS brand awareness
- Manages marketing-driven prioritization, scheduling and coordination of magazine house ads
- Collaboration with Marketing Plan Management to ensure plans are supported and aligned to organizational goals and targets.
- Integration with Communications division - specifically, editorial and creative services senior managers for support of magazine's business goals
- Deliver best practices to advertising team to improve performance and establish capabilities and supporting infrastructure where needed.
- Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, and monitor legal agreements/contracts

Location: Open FLSA status: Exempt Position Summary: The Internet Marketing Manager will handle many tasks including internet advertising (google ad words, external site advertising), search engine optimization for our web properties, and social media. Will oversee those efforts including management of (currently) one employee in the department. Essential Duties:
- Serve as lead/point of contact with the marketing plan managers for marketing projects with internet advertising and/or social media aspects.
- Work with web services on search engine optimization issues, initially getting everything up to standard, and ensure sites are meeting the standard on an ongoing basis.
- Evaluate all current internet advertising taking place. Work with Google to create a google grant for Best Friends - employ that grant in support of marketing plans across the organization. Assess and recommend other opportunities for online advertising (Facebook, other sites).
- Evaluate current position/protocol for social media. Work with Social Media Program Mgr. to help find interns/volunteers to recruit for ongoing site maintenance, user correspondence, etc. Create plans that both support goals of marketing and the organization, and boost revenue and list name generation within social media space.
Experience/Requirements:
- BA or BS degree in Marketing, Information Systems, Business, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years marketing experience, including experience with managing web marketing projects, online advertising, search engine optimization, RSS, podcasting, and e-mail campaigns
- Experience with:
- development, and execution of strategic online marketing plans and integrated e-marketing initiatives to drive web traffic and leverage cost-effective ROI campaigns (including search, media and/or email)
- usability best practices and usability testing, branding, interactive web marketing, content management, vendor management, software development, and web site analytics
- developing web 2.0 plans and strategies or search engine optimization and online advertising and marketing
- working in team-based, collaborative environments with other functional areas, vendors, and contractors

MARKETING PROGRAM MANAGER Reports to: Sr. Manager, Marketing Plan Mgmt. Location: Kanab, UT FLSA status: Exempt Position Summary: This position is responsible for the development and management of marketing programs to support Community Programs and Services (CP&S) campaigns in our target cities. There are four key campaigns that target the largest source of the euthanized shelter population - cats, bully breed dogs, puppy mills and shelter relinquishment/owner surrenders. Essential Duties:
- Development of CP&S marketing campaign tactics to support campaign goals.
- Execute CP&S marketing programs within established budgets.
- Negotiate and work with all vendors/partners/volunteers to execute campaigns.
- Manage program activities against goals and prepare program reports.
- Serve as "first stop" for internal (CP&S) client needs, ensuring alignment with goals and incorporation into master plan.
- Facilitate initiation of Communications support via creative briefs, and will integrate with Promotions Mgmt and Cause Mktg teams for tactic development and deployment.
- Integrates with campaign coordinators in CP&S to understand program needs, timing, goals, objectives, etc., and develop marketing plans to support those in target cities and for target market segments.

This position is also responsible for BFAS brand management and market research activities. Essential Duties:
- Oversee market intelligence strategy, including identification, aggregation, and analysis of internal and external data for strategic and performance insight as well as knowledge gap analysis and corresponding initiatives to address those gaps
- Develop and implement the market intelligence strategy. Identify and aggregate existing internal and external data. Identify gaps in knowledge. Develop and execute a plan to fill the gaps through market research initiatives, technology solutions, etc. Support internal metrics that influence strategy, goal setting, and performance assessments.
- Lead development of data mining, customer segmentation and statistical models
- Support analyses of current and potential marketing and strategic initiatives to identify key insights and opportunities: ROI of events and activities; Efficacy of marketing and sales efforts; Market data trends and leading indicators that influence strategic and tactical decisions of BFAS marketing.
- Collaborate with BFAS leaders to disseminate business intelligence and to identify and build knowledge and competitive insight to support BFAS programs.
- Collaborate with the IT department to evaluate technology tools and to build marketing-related business requirements for new technology such as CRM and data warehouse solutions.
- Responsible for brand strategy development and management. Includes managing, communicating and monitoring brand/identity guidelines throughout the organization to ensure a clear, consistent message.
- Responsible for all primary and secondary research to support member & market intellegence.
- Manage and develop data/research analyst(s) who support the business intelligence function and brand strategy/management specialist(s) who support the brand.

- 6+ years prior marketing experience, including prior brand strategy/management experience, data mining, analytics and customer segmentation
