OPERATIONS MANAGER ASSISTANT
Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Kanab, UT
FLSA status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary: Provides a wide array of assistance to the Best Friends Store Operations Manager to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of orders.

Essential Duties:

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email; resolve order problems using the NetSuite program
  • Communicate problems needing further intervention to Operations Manager
  • Help identify and track trends of problems with customer orders
  • Perform essential office duties as defined by operations manager, including maintenance of filing system, ordering office supplies, etc&
  • Help receive inventory by tracking delivery and quantity received against order
  • Help count inventory two times per year, more often if needed
  • Pick and pack internal orders for Best Friends departments
  • Fill in as a picker or packer in shipping if needed


Experience/Requirements:
  • The ideal person is a team player, personable, professional, upbeat and energetic, takes initiative and uses tact and diplomacy
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication (verbal and written), listening and customer service skills
  • Work requires continual attention to detail. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple tasks and demands
  • Must be able to sit, type, and look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Must be a willing learner
  • Ability to professionally advocate Best Friends' position on issues
  • Experience with internet navigation and a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and accessible transportation to make occasional trips to deliver or pick up interoffice mail

  • Use of a variety of repetitive typing, arm and hand motion
  • Bending, twisting, lifting (up to 30 lbs) and reaching

CAUSE MARKETING SPECIALIST
Reports to: Cause Marketing Manager
Location: Kanab, UT preferred; may accommodate remote arrangement
FLSA status: Exempt

Position Summary: Provide support to the Cause Marketing Manager, review, research and manage corporate relationships as assigned, oversee daily management of the corporate affiliate programs, and provide support, as needed for alliance-related activities.

Essential Duties:
  • Receive, review, research and evaluate potential fundraising queries, proposals and relationships based on established corporate guidelines.
  • Conduct initial discussions with potential corporate sponsors, manage and promote ongoing relationships, answer queries as needed.
  • Take ownership of existing affiliate programs by continually managing daily operations and client relationships.
  • Work with Legal department to outline agreements for all new corporate relationships, as well as new marketing initiatives for existing accounts.
  • Answer questions and inquiries from members and staff regarding affiliate programs, promotions and other sponsorship opportunities.
  • Work with Cause Marketing Manager on promotion of all programs.
  • Work with other department managers to promote sponsorship opportunities to corporate partners and affiliates
  • Collaborate with the media and public relations teams to promote affiliate programs across internal (Best Friends) and external media
  • Assist with Cause Marketing special projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Experience/Requirements:
  • 2+ years prior marketing and vendor account management experience.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. The ideal person for this job would be a team player, professional, upbeat, energetic, flexible, takes initiative, uses tact and diplomacy.
  • Work requires continual attention to detail. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands. Outstanding organizational and time management skills are imperative for success.
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication (verbal and written), listening and customer service skills.
  • Strong skill set in writing and editing written material. Good command of the English language.
  • Professionally advocate Best Friends' positions on issues.
  • Must have proficiency with a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, research, and presentation software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Comfortable learning new software programs and using online information systems.

WEB DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMER/ANALYST
Reports to: Web Development Manager
Location: Kanab, UT (On-Site)
FLSA status: Exempt

Position Summary: In conjunction with the Web Support Manager, Web Designers, and other staff, will develop, maintain, and implement web centric technology to support Best Friends' mission, including web based applications with the internet, intranet, and extranet.

Essential Duties:
  • We are seeking candidates for the Web Development Programmer/Analyst position who are highly proficient with .NET Framework, and who have a solid object oriented framework that can be built upon over time to meet evolving needs. Systems are created and maintained in a C#, .NET environment, utilizing MSSQL Server.
  • The Programmer/Analyst works with Best Friends technical team members to maintain core Best Friends Information Systems (40%) and Design, Develop and Test System Enhancements (60%).
  • System Enhancement Projects are typically long term in scope, and requires consistency in design and coding throughout the development cycle. The ideal Candidate should be details-oriented with strong competency in task/time and scope management.
  • Create and deliver technical and user documentation and training.
  • Significant interaction with other Best Friends departments, particularly non-technical staff. Excellent communication skills and above average professionalism are necessary for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Experience/Requirements:
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3-6 years of direct experience is required for this position.
  • Required Skills: C++/C#, Visual Studio.NET, Java.NET and/or MSSQL Server, HTML, Visual Studio. Desired Skills: MS Access, Windows 98-XP, Mac OS 9/OSX, Java Script, FrontPage, Coldfusion.
  • Familiarity with SQL and database structures.
  • Understanding of networks.
  • Ability to learn a complex Application Programming Interface.
  • Experienced with version control software (prefer experience with Source Safe).
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects on time/within budget.
  • Experience maintaining and enhancing content management systems.
  • Able to comprehend other Web-centric programming languages.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work in a multi-department team environment, and maintain a professional demeanor within a flexible work environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on areas of responsibility, with minimal supervision.
