Bobbie Foster, Cat World Manager

Bobbie Foster is the manager for Cat World, the cat area at Best Friends. In 1990, Bobbie Foster was introduced to Best Friends when she stopped at a card table set up outside a grocery store in Palo Alto, California. She became a member on the spot.

Shortly afterward, Bobbie started helping out with trap/neuter/return programs for San Francisco Street Cats Rescue and the San Francisco SPCA. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in February 2005, Bobbie volunteered for Best Friends in Tylertown, Mississippi, and then helped close down Celebration Station. When she received a call to volunteer at Little Lebanon, the area at Best Friends housing the dogs and cats rescued from the Middle East, she wrapped up business at home in California and headed out to Kanab in October of 2006.

In December 2006, she was hired as a cat caregiver at Best Friends and started her training in the CalMar building to learn from the best of the best. In March 2007, she was sent to the Pets Alive sanctuary in Middletown, New York, to assess the cat situation there. She fell in love with every single one of the felines.

In June 2007, Bobbie became co-manager of Cat World and her life has been non-stop ever since. Bobbie believes education is the key to change and is a large part of her vision for Cat World. Her mission is to make sure that visitors and volunteers walk away empowered with the knowledge they need to bring about positive change.

Bobbie resides in Kanab with her five cats: Maddie, Olive, Buster, Lilli (a Beirut beauty) and Graeme, the infamous Lebanon feline.
