Carla Davis, Editor of Best Friends magazine

A career journalist and an award-winning writer and editor, Carla Davis came to Best Friends from Vegetarian Times magazine, where she was managing editor. She edited the 2005 Vegetarian Times Complete Cookbook and ushered the 30-year-old magazine through a design and content overhaul. Before working at VT, she was special-projects editor at Richmond magazine and features editor at the Martinsville Bulletin, a daily newspaper in southwestern Virginia.

As editor for Best Friends magazine, Carla oversees the publication's editorial strategy and vision. She works with a talented team of writers, editors, designers and photographers to put out Best Friends magazine six times a year.

A lifelong animal lover and a vegetarian, Carla shares her home with two beloved shelter cats, Sylvia and Sebastian.
