Carla Davis, Editorial Director of Best Friends Magazine

A career journalist and an award-winning writer and editor, Carla Davis came to Best Friends from Vegetarian Times magazine, where she was managing editor. She edited the 2005 Vegetarian Times Complete Cookbook and ushered the 30-year-old magazine through a design and content overhaul. Before working at VT, she was special-projects editor at Richmond magazine and features editor at the Martinsville Bulletin, a daily newspaper in southwestern Virginia.

As editorial director for Best Friends magazine, Carla oversees the publication's strategy and vision as well as its day-to-day operations. She works with a talented team of writers, editors, designers and photographers to put out Best Friends magazine six times a year.

A lifelong animal lover and a vegetarian, Carla shares her home in Kanab, Utah, with three cats: Angus, Dominick and Sylvia. In her spare time, she enjoys reading travel and adventure books, Entertainment Weekly and the Washington Post.
