Christine Lockmon, Prospect Research Manager
Christine Lockmon loves playing matchmaker. As Prospect Research manager, she mixes a little bit of science with a little bit of art to connect the passion of individuals and organizations who can provide financial support to the needs of the animals served by Best Friends. In this role she is helping the development department to build and evolve relationship strategies that allow donors to best realize their personal goals through their involvement with the sanctuary and its initiatives.
In fundraising since 1990, Christine most recently worked as a consultant to a variety of non-profits for development software services. She was previously director of Development Research at the University of Illinois and, later, director of Development Research & Prospect Management at the College of William & Mary.
An active volunteer in her field, Christine served on the board of directors for the international Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA) from 1995-2001. She received her BA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in advertising and Ed.M from the University of Illinois in educational organization and leadership. In addition, in her role as a life coach, she is a member ofthe International Coach Federation (ICF) and a graduate of Coach University.
Christine and her husband, Don, are the proud parents of Rocket, a brindle greyhound rescued from the Daytona racing track who loves a good belly rub and ear scratchies.
