Danielle Aymar
Danielle is the manager of dog and cat adoptions for Best Friends Animal Society. She has more than nine years of experience working with animals.
Originally from Little Falls, New Jersey, Danielle has a B.A. in family and child studies from Montclair State University. Following graduation, she began working as a grooming assistant and instantly realized that working with animals was her true passion. A few years later, Danielle opened and managed her own grooming shop in New Jersey. During that time, she worked with several local rescue groups, donating her time and skills to help local dogs in search of homes look their best for adoption events. She also volunteered her time at a local shelter walking and socializing the dogs.
In November 2004, Danielle visited Best Friends as a volunteer. Even before boarding her flight back to New Jersey, she had made the decision to try to relocate to Kanab and work for Best Friends. In March 2005, Danielles dream came true. She returned to Kanab and became the dog groomer for Dogtown. She also served as a caregiver in New Friends, the puppy area at the sanctuary. Working in New Friends gave her the opportunity to do hands-on puppy care and learn about puppy development and the importance of early socialization.
In August 2006, Danielle began working in dog adoptions. She enjoys the challenges of her position and the personal gratification of seeing the wonderful dogs and cats of Best Friends find their forever homes.
Danielle and her boyfriend share their lives with three dogs: Hobo, Ellie Mae and Orbit. During her free time, Danielle enjoys camping, reading, and exploring roads less traveled and the national parks in the surrounding area. She loves working for Best Friends and living in the most beautiful part of the country.
