Julie White, Community Program Manager

Julie White is the Western Region's community program manager for Best Friends' national No More Homeless Pets campaign. Julie works with shelters, rescue groups, other humane organizations and individuals to develop local No More Homeless Pets programs.

Prior to joining Best Friends Animal Society, Julie spent 16 years in the corporate world as the customs compliance director for a major apparel retailer. However, most of her free time and vacations involved volunteering at shelters or were somehow associated with helping animals.

It was during her time as a foster parent for the local shelter that she realized the need to apply her expertise and management skills toward helping the animals. Julie was elected public relations director and today she is president of Friends of King County Animal Control, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that raises money and fosters awareness about shelter animals. Julie has received numerous awards for her volunteer work and leadership, including the Animal Services Manager Award.

Julie lives near Seattle, Washington, with her husband, Tom, and their three cats - Alley, Teddy and Olivia.
