Mike Lindley, Information Services Manager
Mike Lindley has been the information services manager at Best Friends since 2002. He is responsible for maintaining internal business systems at the sanctuary. Besides managing a staff of seven, Mike oversees the Best Friends accounting system; the Best Friends Information Systems, a customer-relations management system that records all member information and donations; the case management system for the Animal Help department; and the Animal Care System, which stores information, including bios and photos, on all the animals who reside at Best Friends.
Mike has been in data processing for nearly 40 years. He's worked as a programmer, business analyst and information systems manager for companies like the Board of Cooperative Education Services in New York, Utah Power & Light and a large New York bank.
Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Mike fell in love with southern Utah while on a date here with his wife. It was only after buying a house in Kanab that he found out about Best Friends, applied for a job and the rest is history! He says working at Best Friends is his dream job, and living in Kanab, in the Golden Circle of national parks, is a bonus. Mike says that Kanab is "next to everything but in the middle of nowhere."
In his spare time, Mike loves exploring the great outdoors, tinkering in his workshop, and hanging out with Sheba, his old dog, and his cat, Venus. Mike's not the only Lindley who works at Best Friends - his son Paul works as a caregiver in Dogtown.
