Nicholas Meyeres, Dining and Kitchen Manager

Nicholas came to Best Friends from Kansas, where he worked as a restaurant manager in upscale dining facilities for 10 years.  Nicholas says he's just a "good ol' Kansas boy" who crossed the Rockies with his dog and a desire to play with animals all day long.  But, after only six months of being a dog caregiver in Dogtown, he was drafted to be the new restaurant manager of Best Friends.

Nicholas lives in Kanab with his dog, Cosmo, who was the first shelter dog in Kansas to be trained by a prison inmate at a local correctional facility.  Appropriately enough, it was dubbed "The Lucky Dog Program."  Cosmo was indeed a very lucky dog and a pretty famous one at that!  In the program, Cosmo not only learned how to cohabitate with people, but he also picked up a few basic commands.

Nicholas is not nearly as famous as Cosmo, but he does enjoy getting back into the swing of things with restaurant management at Best Friends.  He runs the daily restaurant operations, as well as various catering functions.  The restaurant is 100% vegetarian and vegan, and since he's been a vegetarian for the past 15 years, Nicholas says it's the ideal place for him to call home.
