No More Homeless Pets
Conference
April, 2004
Around 430 people from 40 states, India, and Hong Kong attended sessions to discuss the issues that all of us in animal welfare face every day - spay/neuter, adoptions, fundraising, relating to the media, building coalitions and getting the job done to help the animals in our communities.
National experts like Mike Arms (photo right) of Helen Woodward Animal Center in California, and Don Jordan of Seattle Animal Control inspired people to reach out to their communities for adoptions and volunteers.
Jane Hoffman from the Mayor's Alliance in New York City showed how her team has tailored animal rescue programs in the nation's most populous city.
Dr. Brenda Griffin from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine walked us through juvenile spay/neuter and its health benefits.
And Nathan Winograd of Tompkins County SPCA challenged us, as he always does, to be constantly innovative when it comes to saving lives.
