Special Feature: What's Up At Cat World?

What's Up At Cat World?

All excited for Christmas!

The building is splashed with holiday cheer -- do the cats know they'll be getting gifts on Christmas day?

This is Griselda's (pictured, right) first Christmas at Best Friends, and she's in for a big surprise! She was born twitchy from a neurological condition, and when her New York 'hood was torn up for construction, no one could find the funny-walking girl a home! But we know she'll find a happy home some day. Until then, she can look forward to being a part of Cat World's Christmas celebration every single year.

Dreaming of Sugar Plum Fairies

Higgins and Sebastian (above) have been here long enough to know what Christmas is all about. Higgins, the brown one, is slowly reaching the end of his days, and Sebastian promises he'll be there to the end. They're taking it one Christmas at a time, having sweet dreams, knowing they'll be together on Christmas morning. After all, family is one of the things Christmas is all about.

Eddie

And speaking of sugar plums! Oh wait -- that's not a sugar plum, that's Eddie. He may look fierce, but that's actually just his favorite way to laze. He's a little more like a couch drape than a cat, and putting his paws all the way out in front of him like a normal feline seems like an awful lot of trouble when the "lie how you splat" method is perfectly comfortable. Here's hoping Eddie gets a cozy new couch for Christmas!

Rockette

It's scary being new! Rockette doesn't know what to expect from her new life here at Best Friends. She's either hiding from rumors of Santa Clause coming, or hiding from scary visitors with cameras. We're not sure! But we think the other cats will teach her that Christmas -- and life at Cat World -- and maybe even cameras -- are nothing to be scared of, in no time. It sure beats life as a hungry stray, Rockette! You'll see.

Tito

Oh, Tito! Did they do that to you again? This is what he gets for being such a darned good sport. Or is it possible he put those on himself? Maybe he's hoping if he looks like one of the reindeer, Santa will adopt him or accidentally take him home! It's kind of chilly in the North Pole, Tito. You sure you're ready for that?

Tigger

And for some, it may be a Christmas goodbye. Tigger has a family on its way to come meet her. If all goes well, she may have found her home. Maybe there were times when Tigger thought it would never happen for her, but she should have known better. If Christmas means anything, it means that none of us are ever alone. Sweet dreams, Tigger.  We have our fingers crossed for you -- and Merry Christmas!
