A New Beginning

A group from  the Genesis Youth Center was at Best Friends last week.
 

During their stay, they accomplished several projects including trail-building and helping take care of the cats.

The Genesis Youth Center rehab program in Salt Lake City is part of a continuing program that encourages good values while enabling young people to repay small debts to society through hard work.

But one project deeply touched these nine girls who were between the ages of 14 and 18. Each of them did obedience training and socialization with one dog.

On Friday the girls bid an emotional good-bye to their dogs. Their feelings were best summed up by Brittany who said, "I never knew I could open my heart to something so loving. Everyone of these dogs is a best friend."
