A Family Affair
While Sara Krumweide of Perham, Minnesota, was busy with her veterinary externship at the Best Friends clinic, her mother, Robin Anderson, was volunteering at Dogtown.
Sara is a fourth-year veterinary student at the University of Minnesota. She says she wasn't even thinking about studying animal medicine until her mother gave her the Best Friends book to read. So it just seemed natural for mom to come along, too, when Sara got the internship here.
"This is great being here," Sara said. "It's reality. I wanted to know how to practice quality medicine on a budget."
Sara's dream is to be a small animal vet in a rural area and work with the local humane society. She also wants to have a wildlife rehabilitation license.
"I want to do it all," she said.
