Best Friends began as a special haven for dogs and cats who were deemed "unadoptable."
These animals have special needs -- they might need help getting around, extra medicines, or a home that has no other pets or children. They are not for everyone.
But Best Friends members have always held a special place in their hearts for the dogs and cats (and horses and bunnies, too) who need a little extra care but whose beauty runs a lot more than just skin-deep.
Three out of every four animals who come to Best Friends are eventually placed in good new homes. For those few who really are unadoptable, they'll have a life at Best Friends that's as close to home as you'll find.
