A face only a rescuer could love? Zambi was in trouble at a shelter in Indiana! She was sitting in a not-a-no-kill shelter, hoping to be adopted. But with an unsightly problem right smack on her face, what were the odds? A visitor to the shelter was scared for her and contacted Best Friends. And next thing she knew, she was on her way to the sanctuary …and to the Guardian Angel program. Zambi’s problem is in her mouth. Her teeth don’t line up and her tongue won’t stay inside. When the vets first looked at her, they found a crater in her jaw, filled with debris, and they thought it was cancer. But it may not be. It may be an infection, and they may be able to rebuild her jaw through surgery. It’s going to take some work! But Zambi is safe now, and no matter what happens, she’ll have all the love and support that any doggie could wish for. |
