Tuxedo is the little shelter puppy who nearly crossed the Rainbow Bridge one night.

Best Friends got a call from Tuxedo’s animal shelter. The little puppy was sick, much too quiet, and testing faintly positive for parvo (Though they weren’t sure he really had it; it was such a slight reading.) Well, bring him over and let’s have a look …

And Tuxedo barely made it!

By the time he reached Best Friends, just about an hour after the phone call, the fuzzy little guy had collapsed, and was barely responding. He immediately went to Best Friends’ operating room, where he gasped for breath while the doctors conducted a series of emergency procedures to keep him alive. By the end of the night, it still wasn’t looking good. The puppy was barely awake. But then, the next morning...

Tuxedo was still alive – and looking much brighter! He was still weak and a little neurologically confused. But it was clear for the first time that he really wanted to pull through.

And he did! Tuxedo is now adopted and doing great with a new family of his own.
