Barney spent his life as a breeding dog in a West Virginia puppy mill where his offspring were sold for hundreds of dollars to unsuspecting buyers online and where Barney spent his life in a cage. When the mill closed down, Barney was one of over 900 dogs who found a new life and new hope. Barney’s fur was matted and his eyes and ears where inflamed. He also had painful looking sores on his feet. Barney also suffered from another common problem in puppy mill dogs – he was afraid of the world! Dogtown Manager Michelle Besmehn helped Barney overcome many of his fears and today Barney has been adopted and has his very own home! |
