Renee whose mother Marianne left a donation gift to the animals in her will

Renee and Marianne

When it came to honoring her mother, Renee looked no further than Best Friends Animal Society. Renee's mother, Marianne, had a passion for animals and as her health declined, she became very concerned about her own senior pets. Marianne knew that senior animals are often passed over for adoption and she wished to encourage the adoption of older pets.

Choosing to delay her own treatment for cancer, Renee cared for her ailing mother until she passed away. Leaving behind a 13-year-old dachshund who brought great joy to her life, Marianne passed just two months shy of her 90th birthday. But, true to her kind and generous nature, Marianne had left a gift to Best Friends in her will. And when Renee told us about her mother's love for animals, we were delighted to be a part of their story.
