This is my first trip to Best Friends and I brought my mom along to enjoy it with me. We’ve been volunteering during the day and taking a dog out for a few hours on the town. We took a Best Friends dog to lunch at a café and as the waitress admired our lunch guest, she told us about the sweetest dog who had been there earlier in the week. His name? Dermott. Later that day, back at the sanctuary, we found out that we could take a dog on an overnight sleepover. The dogs are so much fun that it sounded good to us. We asked for whichever dog needed some extra attention and we were given Dermott! It seemed like fate and when I saw Dermott, it was love at first sight! That smile (big), that head (giant)! Off we went to town with Dermott along for the ride. At another restaurant, I could barely drink my tea because everyone who walked by wanted to know all about Dermott and give his giant head a pat. Dermott loved the attention and seemed to be smiling all night long.
