Manx syndrome can be so embarrassing!

Poor Charlotte is a very dignified cat with a very undignified problem. She was born with manx syndrome, a condition caused when breeding cats to be tailless goes wrong. And that means she walks kind of funny, and she can’t control when she goes to the bathroom.

She’s a darling cat with a big, expressive face. But life has been really tough for this girl. Not only was she born with manx syndrome, but she then wound up living with an animal hoarder, surviving among crowded conditions and squalor.

Now, she’s at Best Friends, though. And her Guardian Angels will help her on the way to a future as dignified as she is.

Surgery may be in her future, but it’s too soon to tell. Her elbows need constant bandaging because she uses them to help her walk, and they develop little sores on them. And of course, there’s a great deal of cleaning involved with her incontinence …

But the important thing is that Charlotte comes to feel good about herself. And with vets helping her stay as healthy as she can be, caregivers providing her with the cleanest, fullest life possible, and of all her Guardian Angels out there, loving her unconditionally – she’s sure to learn that being different is nothing to be ashamed of!
