His big draft horse feet may look tough, but really, they’re tender and hurting!
Clyde is a grand horse. Handsome and picturesque, he spent years pulling wagons, carts and sleighs with his best friend, Bonnie. (Together, they were the Bonnie and Clyde team, of course!) And together, they were sold at an auction.
But what the folks who bought them didn’t know is that Clyde’s poor feet were crying for help. He has a condition called Canker in all four feet, and there were even maggots in them. It was going to take a long, long, costly time to cure him, and his new people just didn’t feel they could do it.
So Clyde came to Best Friends. But don’t worry. Bonnie’s been by his side all his life, and that won’t change. She came to the Best Friends pastures too, to keep him company.
Clyde’s condition isn’t going to be easy to treat. Canker isn’t fully understood, and his feet are in really terrible shape. But with Bonnie by his side, a sanctuary full of folks ready to give him whatever he needs, and Guardian Angels watching over him – this beautiful horse has the best chance possible of returning to the horse who is as healthy as he is handsome.
