Micky loves to play and unfortunately my cats can only tolerate so much, so recently I have brought home different puppies here and there for Micky to play with. The first puppy was Lucia. Lucia recently got adopted, but a few days before she left I brought her home for the night. Micky was so excited to have a friend to play with and the fact it was a girl was even better. Micky and Lucia played non-stop! Both of them were soaked from head to toe with slobber and the grins on both of their faces were priceless.

When it was time for bed, they reminded me of me and my sister growing up. They both jumped on the bed with me and once they thought I was asleep they started playing again. When I asked them both to stop and told them that it was time for bed, they both looked at me and sighed, but then continued to ignore my request. None of us got much sleep that night, but I was the only one that suffered the next morning. Well worth it!

Last weekend I brought home another puppy, Galatea. Galatea is a little shy and was somewhat unsure of my house and cats, but warmed up to Micky very quickly. Again I had another night of two very wet, happy dogs. Watching Micky play and act like a puppy is one of the cutest, most rewarding sights one could see. He is so full of life and having a friend who is a puppy is wonderful for him. Most dogs are scared of him, but for some reason puppies don’t realize he has a disability and I believe that helps boost Micky’s confidence as well. He has so much life in him and I am very fortunate to be able to bring home friends for Micky to play with. It not only puts smiles on Micky and the others faces, but mine as well (even with the lack of sleep I get those nights).

Sarah, what a wonderful idea of trying a puppy with Micky! You got it perfect. And the way you describe how they paly is so great to hear/ Micky is lucky to have you caring for him. Hee's quite the personality it seems. And that picture--what a hppy looking dog!

Nothing makes me happier than playing pups! Mickey must be having the time of his life. I think he needs his own calendar. He's had more adventures than anyone I know!

Now that is a CUTE story! I can just picture Micky romping away with his enthusiasm and his big shining heart! I am so happy he has found a few friends to play with despite his "differences".. I HEART YOU Micky!
