Even if you’ve come across cats with cerebellar hyperplasia before, you may never have seen a case this severe. Masi shakes and jiggles and jerks around so badly, it’s hard to imagine how she completes the simplest of kitty tasks.

She was born the way she is. And the neighborhood children were scared of her. Her jerking movements made them run away when they saw her, and the adults wanted her elsewhere so the kids wouldn’t be frightened.

But Masi wants everyone to know that she’s isn’t scary, and she isn’t a freak of nature! She’s a nice cat with a good heart, and at Best Friends, she’s going to learn how to maximize her quality of life.

She’s come to the comfortable cat buildings at the sanctuary, where she’s now surrounded by Guardian Angels who love her just the way she is. Both the ones looking after her, and the ones at home, cheering her on as she fights to discover what a wonderful life it can be, with just a little help from your friends.
