“I need chemotherapy? I’m scared!”
It’s always scary to find out you have cancer. In Wrigley’s case, it’s lymphoma. And because he’s an FIV positive cat, that might feel especially worrisome.
But many cats with FIV have made it through chemotherapy just fine, and the Best Friends vets are going to do everything they can to make sure that Wrigley is one of them!
He’s the sweetest cat. Ten years old and affectionate, he just about broke the staff’s heart by suddenly losing weight … and then showing a mass in his abdomen. Surgery wasn’t enough. The mass was malignant, and he’s going to need chemotherapy. In fact, the disease will eventually be terminal no matter what, but with treatment, he can live much longer and happier, if all goes well. Plus, he’ll need a little isolation from the other cats until he heals, so he doesn’t pick up infections while he’s under treatment.
Wrigley’s a little uncertain about everything right now, and so are the caregivers who love him!
But they know that with Guardian Angels hovering in his corner, and making all of this top-notch medical care possible for a homeless cat like him, Wrigley’s chances of having a longer and healthier life are as high as they can be.
His furry little ears are hearing your prayers, so please, stay with him on this journey! And thank you for being his Guardian Angel.
