The Humane Education Department at Best Friends provides four distinct areas of education for both children and adults: workshops, internet-based youth outreach, the Education Ambassador Program, and offsite outreach.
Throughout the year, our staff hosts a wide range of educational workshops at our sanctuary in Kanab, covering many topics related to animal welfare work. We are also the team that created and runs 'Best Friends NextGen,' our new internet-based youth outreach program for kids ages 5 - 17.
In addition, the staff offers offsite outreach programs to local and regional schools and groups within driving distance from Best Friends. Finally, we also manage the volunteer Education Ambassador Program. This national venue offers schools an ongoing educational experience with fresh presentations that can be given every month of the school year.

You are welcome to be a volunteer in one of the animal areas while you are visiting the sanctuary. Find out how to sign up!
