Carey Theil


Carey brings nearly a decade of political and animal protection experience to GREY2K USA. In 1999, he served as director of legislation for Oregon State Senator John Lim. He also has experience with the ballot initiative process: In 1998, he worked on the successful "No on 34" campaign, sponsored by the Oregon Bear and Cougar Coalition. In 2000, he served as the director of media and research for a Massachusetts ballot question to outlaw dog racing.


He has also volunteered his time working for various nonprofit organizations and governmental boards. In 2000, he served on the Multnomah County Animal Control Task Force in Oregon, and he's a founding member of Oregon Defenders of Greyhounds and Friends of Shelter Animals. He currently sits on the board of directors for the National Coalition Against Gambling Expansion. In his spare time, Carey enjoys playing chess and reading.
