Jan Raven

Jan Raven is a co-founder and current president and CEO of AzCATs in Maricopa County, Arizona. AzCATs specializes in trap/neuter/return (TNR) for feral cats.

Jan Raven graduated from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan, in 1982. She was a prosecutor in Wayne County, Michigan, and in Maricopa County, Arizona. Jan and her husband, L. Grant, moved to Phoenix in 1987 with their two cats. One of those cats, Demon, is still living and celebrates her 20th birthday on May 3rd.

Jan has worked as a judge in various jurisdictions. She is currently working two days a week in municipal jail courts. Jan plans to leave her legal career behind her soon so that she can focus entirely on AzCATs' mission to humanely end the cat overpopulation problem in Arizona.

In May of this year, Jan and three other members of AzCATs' team are going to the Galapagos Islands to help Animal Balance sterilize the cats and dogs living there.
