Nancy Hill
Nancy Hill has over 25 years of experience working in animal protection and control. She has been with Spokane County Regional Animal Care & Protection Services (S.C.R.A.P.S.) since 1986, working as an animal control officer for 10 years and as the animal control director since 1995. Prior to that, she worked as a zookeeper and managed a cat shelter that housed over 400 cats.
Nancy is a regular instructor at the Washington Animal Control Officer Academy. She has been involved in ordinance revision and legislative issues in Washington State regarding animal protection and control. Nancy is dedicated to ending the euthanasia of adoptable pets in the community and has developed a number of new programs to help reach that goal.
Nancy served as the president of the Washington Animal Control Association from 1999 to 2004 and is the current president of the Friends of Pets Coalition.
Nancy is the proud owner of three shelter dogs -- Annie, Cookie and Amy. She enjoys basketball, hiking and spending quality time with her husband and two children. Nancy holds a special deputy one commission with the Spokane County Sheriff's Department.
