Volunteers Volunteer management - how to
keep them happy and active
Tracy Miller
Tracy Miller is the volunteer director of No More Homeless Pets in Utah. She is a graduate of California State University at Long Beach with a Bachelors degree in speech communication. Tracy also worked for more than a decade as a bodily injury claims specialist for the nation's largest property and casualty insurance company. These experiences, combined with living in Vermont, Connecticut, Los Angeles, and now, Salt Lake City, have given her the skills necessary to effectively manage the diverse group of NMHPU volunteers, which currently exceeds 500 in number.
Tracy consistently provides and manages 250 volunteers for NMHPU's bi-annual Super Adoption events. She manages 200 or more volunteers for fundraising events such as the successful Strut Your Mutt. She is also responsible for recruiting the committee members that plan these events. Additionally, Tracy oversees all aspects of the volunteer program, including staffing Furburbia as well as the Best Friends on Tour weekly off-site adoption events. Tracy has continued her education by attending the Points of Light Conference on Volunteerism in 2002 and 2003. Her hard work and dedication earned her the title "Exemplary Employee of the Year" for NMHP in Utah.
Pictured with her Boston mix, Zuni, Tracy is thrilled to use her skills for working with people to benefit our "Best Friends".
