Dear Friends of Elvis,
I just wanted to take this time to say Thank You to all the friends and family of Elvis who I adopted from Best Friends on April 4, 2006. I was blessed to be his Mom, even if it was for such for a short amount of time and during those ten months, he became a wonderful addition to and an intricate part of our family. His journey to the Rainbow Bridge on January 19, 2007 was very sad and painful but we know that his spirit now soars high over Angel Canyon where he lived for ten years.
I would also like to say a very special Thank You on behalf of myself and Elvis to the following individuals at Best Friends:
Kathy Garry, you were Elvis' caregiver for the last several years and it was apparent how much you loved him and all the dogs at Dulcie's. Thank you for being there for him for all those years and for showing him how to love and trust again. I know he truly missed you, your tender loving care and all your special treatment. I can't imagine how demanding your job at Dulcie's must have been for all those years but I know that all the dogs that were under your care must think of you as their Guardian Angel.
Kristi Littrell, you were a huge help in my adoption of Elvis and I appreciate all the care and concern you showed in making sure that he found the right family to finally go home to. A special thank you for your help in getting him transported so safely, I was a bit worried about him but, of course, with your care, he finally showed up at O'Hare airport unscathed.
Lori C., you were an intricate and very important part of Elvis' transport from Utah to me in Illinois. Thank you for your care and concern to get him home to me safe and sound. I was really worried there for a while but it turned out that I didn't need to be as you had everything under control. Thank you for the important role that you take on at Best Friends...it is much appreciated by both the pets being adopted and the families that they are joining.
Marcia F., you were Elvis' caregiver for several years before Kathy and I was also lucky enough to meet you at the Welcome Center where you filled me in on Elvis and his past years at Best Friends. You are a warm and wonderful person and I want to thank you for, not only opening your heart to me while I was there in April but for opening your heart to Elvis and making him feel so special.
And last but not least, Sue Beveridge...Elvis' Sponsor Mom and Guardian Angel. Thank you for your unending support, care and concern and especially your friendship for both Elvis and myself. I know Elvis will never forget you and, if he could, he would thank you for all those wonderful overnights at the cabins at Best Friends.
I know when I first adopted him, you were sad because you knew he wouldn't be at Best Friends the next time you visited there. I hope that I assured you that I would provide a wonderful home and family life for Elvis and to be happy for him to have finally found his special place in the world. I hope we continue to be friends and I look forward to meeting you at Best Friends in May where we can hold a special tribute to the dog who brought us together as friends, our wonderful boy, Elvis.
Please know that Elvis will live on in our hearts and our memories. Without all your help, I would not have been able to fulfill his dream of a forever home...even though he's no longer with us physically, his spirit will always be welcome in our home.
