Blue Eyes - Sebastian

Blue Eyes

Beautiful blue eyes at the end of a chain.
Out in all kinds of weather, sun, snow and rain.
He never gets played with, not even a walk.
What would he say if he could talk?
Perhaps he would say, "I have feelings", "I have a heart"

Oh please talk to me, "I'm very smart."
I would do as you ask, if you'd give me a try.
Why don't you love me, why of why?
Did I do something wrong, when I was young?
That was long ago, now I'm having no fun.

We could have fun and go on long walks,
I wish I could tell you, I wish I could talk.
The days are long, the nights are dark.
Out at a distance, I hear others bark.
Perhaps tomorrow, he'll set me "free",

And look into my eyes, and say, "I'm sorry."

I have been doing Dog rescue for 40 years. This is a dog that was put on a chain, at six months old, in a 10'X10" area, never played with, never walked. Half the time without food or water.

I met him one year ago, by this time he had been on a chain for three years. I have been feeding him and other treats and dog food.

I wrote this poem and put it in the owner's front door. The next morning he met me and said, "Do you want my dog?" I said yes and took him to a Siberian Rescue Ranch. He is so happy. He thinks he died and went to heaven.

PS, his name is Sebastian.

Blue Eyes - Reborn

Thank you, thank you, I now have a home.
I'm here with friends, I'm not alone.
I'm free as a bird to play all day.
I love my new home and here I'll stay.
I never knew, life could be, so much fun.
To be able to go out and have a good run.
I love my new master, his name is Ed.
He's such a great guy, from toe to head.
He treats us gentle, he's very kind,
People like him are hard to find.
At night, when it's bedtime, he takes us in,
With a warm smile and a grin.
We're all very happy. We have no fear.
The "God" up above, must have put us here.

Thank you, Thank you.

J.C. Nelson, Littleton Colo.
