With all the tragedy and uncertainty in today's times concerning our animal population, I have to tell you how happy your flyer made me. It is refreshing to see and read about your refuge for all animals, no matter what their ailment.
What you have undertaken is one of the most tremendous acts of love and kindness that I have seen in sometime. To be quite honest with you, I haven't seen acts like this since the Country came together to help us New Yorkers after the 9/11 attacks. You should be very proud of the countless lives you are saving, both animal and human alike.
I have four cats of my own, which I adopted through our Staten Island Council for Animal Welfare. All of my cats were victims of abuse and each has their own ailments.
Licorice only has one eye, as he was brutally victimized by humans as a baby on the streets. Unfortunately, when he was finally rescued his eye suffered too much trauma and needed to be surgically removed and the socket sewn shut.
