I'm lost. I'm abandoned,
I am the eyes that look at you every day.
I am the one that looks at you through cages,
And waits for a kind word,
Water, food and just maybe your hand to touch me
So I can feel a little secure,
That my loneliness and fear
Would subside for just a little while.
I am the lost. I am the abandoned,
I am the eyes the look at you everyday.
I come to you filthy, scared, and bewildered.
I come you in all shapes and sizes.
I come to you with a broken heart and yet still trust that maybe,
Just maybe, you will understand my plight.

Teach me, and be with me
And don't let them say I am shy or too dirty.
Teach me and I will be most loving and kind.
Don't say like you have said too many times,
"There is not enough room and we don't have the time."
Please set an example and let others know that I am worthy.
If You don't set the example how will others know?
