Clancy
This is Sir Clancy, the brave, handsome, comical, loving and knowing three-legged shepherd of upstate New York.
Clancy is a white shepherd, approximately 12 years old. Being this handsome in his later years, imagine what he looked like as a puppy, which he was when he lost his leg. His person at the time inadvertently dropped him from their car. Luckily someone found him and brought him to the vet.
The first thought was to put the poor little guy out of his miser, but one of the doctors thought if they could relieve him of his injured leg he might stick around a make some person's life better. Thank Goodness!
Clancy has lived with my family since my mom found him at the vet's, waiting to be adopted. Mom is 82 this year, approximately the same age as Clancy in dog years. I swear he can read her mind and she his.
He has the spirit still of that puppy he once was. Little bothers him. He loves to throw his, or anyone's, toys around. He puts on his game face if any other dog tries to bother his family.
Once in awhile he falls, and every now and then you can tell he misses that leg, not enough to slow him down, though. He gets himself up and carries on regardless.
