MooMoo
Our MooMoo and his sister, Calico, were born under our shed in the backyard. The moment I saw MooMoo pop his little head out from under the shed when he was just a few weeks old I knew his name should be MooMoo because he looked so much like the black and white Holstein cow, just a lot smaller.
It took me a whole year before I could convince MooMoo and Calico to come into the house. I even had to put their food and water down and walk away before they would eat, but after a while I was able to pet them and hold them for a few moments and finally bring them in out of the cold into our home.
We lost our Calico to AIDS when she was only 5 years old - we were brokenhearted from our loss of such a sweet and delicate little baby, but we still have MooMoo, who is 11 years old now.
He was diagnosed with Diabetes in April of 2004 and it has been a very rocky road for him - he went from a 17 pound, beautiful kitty to a mere ten pounds, but still our beautiful Moo.
We almost lost him to a Diabetic coma and seizures in May. Somehow, he pulled through it and with a lot of love and trying to get him regulated on the right amount of Insulin he is doing great now. He is back up to 12 pounds. He still goes back to the Dr. for testing of his sugar.
He also has Asthma. It is amazing what he has been through but still giving us the pleasure of his company and unconditional love. He is a happy and contented little man with all the medication that he has to take and we love him so very much.
