Blue Eyes

Beautiful blue eyes at the end of a chain.
Out in all kinds of weather, sun, snow and rain.
He never gets played with, not even a walk.
What would he say if he could talk?

Perhaps he would say, "I have feelings, I have a heart,"
"Oh please talk to me, I'm very smart."
I would do as you ask, if you'd give me a try.
Why don't you love me, why, oh why?

Did I do something wrong, when I was young?
That was long ago, now I'm having now fun.
We could have fun and go on long walks,
I wish I could tell you, I wish I could talk.

The days are long, the nights are dark.
Out a distance, I hear others bark.
Perhaps tomorrow, he'll set me free,
And look into my eyes, and say, "I'm sorry."

This three year old Siberian Husky was in a small, confined area since he was six months old, not walked or played with, half the time not watered or fed. I'd asked the owner many times if I could have him, but he said "no." I wrote Blue Eyes and left it on his front door. The next morning the owner gave Blue Eyes to me.

Blue Eyes' real name was Kabosh, but it's now Sebasian and he resides at Husky Ranch with nine other Huskies on five acres. He thinks he died and went to heaven.
