Summer 2006; life by puppy, carrots, and melting ice cubes
Believe it or not even a car trip to Missouri in august can be entertaining when there you have a puppy in the back seat- we devised a way to tether him, w/the same 18inch chain we trained him on at home, to the seat belt but when the seat belt expanded so did Goode grabbing anything from the front that was between Mike and me, like sun glasses, coke and drinks w/ beaucoup ice.
We had to undivise that method- but we quickly found out how much our new guy loves ice cubes especially when the temperature was 100 plus degrees and I insisted on NO air conditioning- first because I adore the heat(not humidity) secondly because A. C. Is deadly in cars for the environment and thirdly it raises the cost of gas at the pump because it lowers the amount you get from a refueling; how about five miles less to the gallon.
We stayed in our old Hollywood esque motel in Springfield, visited w/Mikes dad in the nursing home, who immediately responded to Goode w/ a huge smile. In Kansas city, we stayed at the Seville plaza, a really cool small hotel in the hip district where Mike rolled up his jeans and dunked Goode in the renowned fountain and we found out fast that, indeed, he can SWIM ok (someone in Springfield cautioned us that corgis cant swim because their legs are too short)
