Little Cat Brain
Your little cat brain just fills me with wonder,
I watch as you scatter your toys all asunder
With ears layed flat and tail held tall,
You race round the corner and careen down the hall.
Chasing what? Who knows, probably nothing at all,
then you skid to a stop and pee on the wall.
You squint your eyes and give me a grin,
With a whip of the tail, you're off again.
To the bed, to the dresser, Up, up and away!
If you could talk to people, that's what you'd say.
You're a lion today, the ruler of all,
and I humbly bow as you prance down the hall,
and pounce on the sofa for a well deserved rest,
curled in a ball like a bird in its nest.
So there you lay purring content with your dreams,
where everything is just as it seems.
No secrets, no lies, no sad refrains,
Just the beautiful wonder of your little cat brain.
