You can imagine my wonder and surprise when I opened the November/December issue of Best Friends and found myself looking at Cara's picture on the Memorials page!
I lost my mother three weeks before Cara died - it was a lot to deal with in a short period of time. Last Saturday, I attended a lovely memorial service in her parish church where she and all those who passed on this year were remembered and honored.
After I returned home (it's about an hour's drive back to Fairfield), I sat in 'Mom's chair' reading the mail and relaxing over a cup of coffee. Best Friends magazine had arrived and I always read Michael's editorial first - turning the pages to finish reading his article, I noticed a familiar looking kitty face on the opposite page - it was Cara!
After some tears, I looked upward and asked Mom, "Did you have something to do with this?" Perhaps both she and Cara did. To say the least, it was a wonderful day and I can't help but feel God's loving hand in all of this.
