CELEBRITY SUPPORTER PROFILE ALL CELEBRITY SUPPORTERS
Using humor is an excellent way to engage an audience and educate in an informative, yet lighthearted way. One expert in this method is Kevin Nealon, the actor and comedian best known for his work on “Saturday Night Live” from 1986 to 1995 and his role on the Showtime Emmy Award–winning series “Weeds.”
Kevin holds a soft spot in his heart for animals and has been supportive of Best Friends over the years. As far back as 2005, he worked on a public service announcement for “Desex in the City,” a month-long spay/neuter campaign in Los Angeles. More recently, he provided the voiceover for our No-Kill Los Angeles (NKLA) Manifesto and starred in a PSA to promote NKLA, using his comedic talents to poke fun at the plethora of questionable causes one can choose to support. He encouraged viewers to help solve the problem of homeless pets and make Los Angeles a no-kill city.
“I love the work that Best Friends does for animals,” says Kevin. “There are too many dogs and cats being euthanized every day because they don't have a home and someone to care for them. I feel very strongly about having pets spayed or neutered, and Best Friends is a strong advocate of that as well. I love that Best Friends is also working very hard to find homes for our little friends.”
