More than 1,000 shelter pets will be showcased at Best Friends Animal Society’s NKLA Super Adoption on Saturday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Page Museum of La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles.

Hosted by Best Friends Animal Society and presented by BOBS from Skechers, the event is one of six Best Friends super adoptions held twice a year throughout the country.

The free, family-friendly event features adoptable pets from more than 50 local shelters and rescues, including Best Friends Pet Adoption Center in Mission Hills, Los Angeles Animal Services, Boston Buddies, PugNation Rescue LA, Wags and Walks, Labs and Friends.org, Angel City Pit Bulls, Kitty Bungalow, and Found Animals Adopt & Shop.

“This is truly a Super Adoption event, with every type of pet imaginable, from playful pups and cute kittens to active adults and super sweet seniors. It’s the perfect venue to find your new best friend,” said Marc Peralta, executive director of Best Friends Animal Society – Los Angeles.

Adoption fees start at just $50 and leashed dogs are welcome at the event for meet and greets with potential canine siblings.  All pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped and adopters will receive a goody bag filled with toys, treats, coupons, and more.

“Adoption isn’t just humane, it’s cost-effective, too,” Marc said. “There’s no need to purchase a pet when you can adopt a fantastic dog or cat for a much lower price and save a life at the same time.”

Anyone looking to add a new four-legged member to their family is encouraged to attend the NKLA Super Adoption, he continued.

“The sad truth is that 9,000 dogs and cats are killed in U.S. shelters every day. Best Friends Animal Society believes that number should be zero and adoption is a key component to making that happen,” Marc said. “By working together, we will Save Them All and turn LA no-kill.”
