Is that really the face of a monster? Probably not. But she sure has the reputation of one!
Drusilla may be an itty-bitty little dachshund, but she sure can be a terror. A great rescue group pulled her from a city shelter and tried to find her a home – but one home after another returned her with the same verdict: "This dog is impossible!"
She greets you by jumping up to give you a "friendly nip" on the face! When she's out on leash walks, she pretty much …. Goes kamikaze on every dog that you meet – even if they're much bigger than she is! And if she ever escapes from your yard, watch out! She'll look for the first tail going by and chomp!
There were caregivers at her last rescue group who just weren't comfortable looking after her. They just didn't know when she might growl or try for a nip. And a trainer officially assessed her as not being able to recover from feeling aroused "within normal limits." So what to do with Drusilla?
Well, Best Friends caregivers are putting on their bite-proof gloves, because Drusilla has arrived, to receive that famous Unconditional Love here at the Sanctuary. Trainers are going to be working hard with this one.
