A place like no other

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is the very heart of the organization and our lifesaving work around the country.

Each day is a bright new beginning as caregivers provide love, companionship and rehabilitation to pets simply looking for kindness and the chance for a life in a loving home.

During your visit, you’ll see healing and compassion in action. You can volunteer directly with the animals in one of our care centers, tour the grounds and connect with like-minded people committed to making a difference, or simply find serenity in the magnificence of the red rock canyons.

From the animal areas to the hiking trails to the café and gift store, there’s so much to see, do and experience at Best Friends. There truly is no place else on earth like Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.

Tours, activities and volunteering

There’s so much to see, do and experience at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary that it’s hard to know where to begin.

If you’ve never visited before, a grand tour is the best way to take in the beauty of the canyon while getting an overview of the different areas of the Sanctuary.

Once you’ve gotten the lay of the land, you can focus on the areas that interest you the most. Each of the animal areas has its own tour, so you have the option of taking a deeper dive into particular areas of interest. You can also take a tour of Angels Rest, where beloved animals who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge are placed. A guided hiking tour is also available.

We suggest that you book tours and volunteer shifts as soon as possible because they tend to fill up early.
